    I am not from California. Try the Methodist churches, and also the local shelters. The local shelters, and the local family services waiting rooms often list the places which give free food (known as food pantrys) here to take home and prepare and eat at home. They keep lists, and the number of people in the household, and will give food according to the people living together. Also, they can arrange for you to pick up food at other locations, should you run low. Getting the food home is another thing.

    The to children and familys in your area they might even be able to children and familys in your area they will tell you everywhere you call 411 and familys.

    I would call the local food bank or the local crisis center and ask.
